Young Boaters
Members of the Sea Scouts Ship #759 under the capable leadership of Skipper James Klimek (center). Each year the Scouts provide our Chesapeake Bay Chapter with great support during our 3-day classic boat festival in St. Michaels. Sea Scouting is a co-ed outdoor program for young adults ages 14-20.
Our Chesapeake Bay Chapter has an ongoing commitment to engage children of all ages in maritime history, skills and activities. Here are some of our annual programs and events:
- Sea Scouts (Ship #759—Baltimore, MD)
Under the capable direction of Captain James, this maritime division of the Boy Scouts of America teaches young adults (male & female, ages 14-20) how to restore, maintain and skipper boats donated to their organization. This local chapter is also a major contributor to our Annual Boat Festival volunteer staff.
- Donations
Each year our Chapter donates funds to:
- Area organizations committed to education in maritime skills and history
- The ACBS International Youth Development Program
